Who We Are and What We Do..........

Our top priority is to raise and care for a healthy, balanced and well socialized pack of Bassets. The care and attention that we provide to our adult dogs carries over to raising beautiful, well bred puppies. We have been breeding exceptional Bassets that we are very proud of for over 15 years. We take pride in offering pet, show and/or breeder quality puppies. We have experienced both joy and heartbreak along the way.

We are in excellent standing with the AKC, and only raise Bassets registered AKC. We like to hear from fellow Basset admirers, and are happy to answer your questions about Whelping, raising a puppy, or general questions about Basset Hounds.

Care and Comfort

We are lucky enough to live on 7 open acres, located in rural Idaho. This allows for free roaming and exploring that a Basset needs to be a balanced and happy Hound. Although our dogs are contained when we are gone or unable to keep a close eye on them, their enclosure is huge and still allows them ample room to run and play. Our dogs all live together, eat together, sleep together and best of all they play together.

Our Bassets are considered to be family members. We adhere to a routine vaccination schedule and while working closely with our team of top-notch vets, have come up with a nutritious diet of high quality food as well a generous amount of meat, rice and/or barley, veggies and eggs.

Our Puppy Policy

We are confident that all puppies who leave us will go to deserving homes. We appreciate at least one phone conversation before placing any of our puppies - nothing too formal, we just like to know who our puppies will spend their lives with. We take pride in offering beautiful healthy Bassets who will become members of loving families.

Our mothers get extra special care when carrying their litters. They are pampered and nurtured to ensure a pleasant and healthy whelp. As an expectant mother progresses in her pregnancy, she is put on a special home-made diet along with a top quality puppy kibble. A vitamin supplement is given twice daily as well. We are always close by to assist our girls during the whelping process. We will not/do not over breed our girls.

All of our puppies are born and raised inside our home. We make certain that they are given the best of care in clean and comfortable surroundings. Puppies are handled daily and are exposed to the usual sounds of a normal household. It is our goal to place not only healthy and happy puppies, but well socialized puppies as well.

Buyer Beware !

It is a sad reality, but we all know that there are plenty of unscrupulous breeders, puppy mills or outright scam artist on the internet. Please do your homework when choosing your new family member. We also encourage you to do your reasearch to make sure a Basset is right for you and your lifestyle. Talk to people who have a Basset, go to the library, seek out breeders who are willing to honestly share the ups and downs, good points as well as not so good points about the breed. We encourage you to ask questions! We happily offer references from past happy hound customers.
